Five days in Sydney, seven trophies, and one new mask we can't stop talking about

Five days in Sydney, seven trophies, and one new mask we can't stop talking about

Every so often, a week comes along that you know you'll remember for a long time. This was one of them.

The Luminary Melbourne team spent five days in Sydney for Beauty Expo Australia, the biggest weekend in our industry’s calendar and the home of the industry's national awards. Somewhere in there we picked up seven trophies, attended eight events, crossed two states after a detour home to Canberra, and laughed more than we've laughed in a long time.

We're back now, a little short on sleep and a lot full of gratitude, and we wanted to tell you properly what happened. Not because of the trophies, but because of what sits behind them and what we've brought home for your skin.

Circadia called our name, three times

We work closely with Circadia, so their awards night carried its own weight for us. We didn't expect quite how much of it would come our way.

Nicolette was announced as a Victorian Circadia Ambassador, a role that recognises Luminary Melbourne for setting the standard for how Circadia's science is used in practice. Sara took out the Sensitive Skin Transformation award for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia and wait for it… Luminary Melbourne was named Circadia Clinic of the Year.

Five years ago, Luminary opened mid-lockdown, driven by the belief that clients deserved better than rushed appointments and sales targets. Standing in that room, hearing our name read out again and again, it was hard not to feel that the belief had been worth holding onto.

Two days learning from the best in the world

Awards are the visible part of a week like this. The part that changes what happens on your skin is a little quieter, and it happened at Circadia Elevate.

Elevate gave us two days of learning with top educators, coaches, and skin professionals from around the world. We learned from Michael Pugliese, CEO of Circadia, the amazing Gay Wardle, and others we’ve admired for years. This is what matters most to us. Trophies look nice, but new knowledge comes back with us and shapes how we care for your skin.

If you’ve ever wondered why our consultations take a bit longer, it’s because we value learning and never want to assume we know everything about your skin.

What we brought home for you

The highlight of Elevate wasn’t an award, but getting a first look at something new.

Circadia unveiled its new Green Coffee Adaptogen Brightening Mask, made for skin that looks dull, stressed, uneven, or simply not itself. If that sounds like your skin lately, especially as you head out of winter, you're not alone, which is why we’re excited about the ingredients chosen for this new green (yes, green!) mask.

Three main ingredients make this mask special. Green coffee is full of antioxidants and helps protect your skin from daily stress. Kakadu Plum is a strong natural source of Vitamin C, which brightens, supports collagen, and guards against free radicals. Adaptogenic mushrooms help stressed skin, strengthen your skin barrier, and boost resilience so your skin can take better care of itself.

We’ve tried it, we’re excited, and as soon as it’s ready for you, you’ll be one of the first to hear.

The night that made all of it worth it

The Australian Beauty Industry Awards wrap up the biggest days in our industry. These national awards are judged by experts from all over the country.

Early in the evening, Sara, fresh from her Circadia win, was named Australian Junior Therapist of the Year. Watching her be recognised for her growth was a moment we’ll never forget. Luminary is shaped by its people, and seeing Sara celebrated set the tone for the whole night.

At the end of the night, we heard the news we’ll never forget: Luminary Melbourne was named Australian Clinic of the Year.

We’ve always said awards are about what you can’t see from the outside: care, consistency, and results that last. Being recognised nationally for the work we do every day in the treatment room is something we’ll never take for granted.

From Sara's moment to the last award called, it was a night we'll be telling stories about for years (and not just because we met Tabitha Coffey, but also… we met Tabitha Coffey).

The thread that runs through all of it

Winning seven trophies makes a great headline, but what really matters is the care, consistency, commitment to learning, and the relationships we’ve built over the years. This week was for our team, but it’s just as much for you, our clients who trusted us from the start.

If you’ve been thinking about your skin lately, the best place to begin is with a consultation. We’ll take the time to understand what your skin needs and create a plan just for you.

Whenever you're ready, we're here.
